Why did you decide to join Jim’s Pest Control?
I worked in the Agricultural Industry for 38 years recommending and selling chemicals to farmers, getting towards the end of my working life I wanted to try something different, when someone said to me why don’t you try domestic pest control .
I checked around with what franchises were available and came across Jim’s which had just started a division in that area – so I did the introduction meeting and joined up.

What has been one of your most interesting jobs?
Doing a German Cockroach job at a restaurant in Barwon Heads where I took over from another pest control operator who was doing the place for 2 years with little results.
The Health Dept were about to close it down when I was contacted by the manager to take over .
I did a spray treatment and put out several glueboard traps and called back after a week, the traps were totally full of cockroaches at all stages.
Fortunately a new product called Attrathor had come onto the market which I used on several occasions with good results, but it took over 12 months to completely eradicate them.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Pest issues that you find in your area and unique content.
Ants problems in new developing areas and around coastal regions.
Spiders – particularly redbacks.
Rats – at certain times of the year we get an invasion in houses which scares customers to get something done.
Cochroaches – the size of them inside the house frightens owners.
