Meet Manie Van Vuuren — Your Regional Franchisor
Manie Van Vuuren is the Regional Franchisor for Jim's Termite & Pest Control across three of Australia's most dynamic pest control markets: Western Australia, Sydney & Country NSW, and the Northern Territory. Operating under JVV Ventures Pty Ltd, Manie is responsible for selecting, onboarding, training and coaching every franchisee who joins the division in these regions — as well as managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and building the operational standards that every Jim's Pest Control business runs on.
Manie also holds a Manager/Divisional Franchisor role at Jim's Pest Control Australia — giving him a rare cross-divisional view of what actually makes a services franchise succeed in Australia. He has personally built the pricing framework, franchise application processes, safety kits, chemical starter packs, and 10-step onboarding sequence used across the division. He works directly with a network of Field Support Officers (FSOs) and regional franchisors across all the states, and reports directly to the National Franchisor team.
Based in Forest Grove, Western Australia — a short drive from Margaret River — Manie splits his week between the three regions he supports, and is on the ground, on the phone, or on video with his franchisees every day. He has been recognised with the network's top Franchisee Support Award several years running, has held a seat on the National Franchisor's Advisory Board since 2017, and holds a Master's Degree in Business. That combination — hands-on operator, strategic voice at the national table, and formal business qualifications — is uncommon in Australian franchising.

HOW TO BECOME A JIM'S FRANCHISEE
From first enquiry to trading — a 10-step process, typically 3 months.
Step 1: Request an interview with the Regional Franchisor
Email info@jimspestcontrol.au or complete the enquiry form below. The first conversation is informal and obligation-free — a two-way qualification between you and Manie.
Step 2: Read the Information Kit and Your Investment appendix carefully
Both are downloadable documents. Show them to your partner. Write down every question that comes up. Do your research!
Step 3: Have your second interview with Manie
This is the deep dive — your business plan, your finances, your territory choice, and whether Jim's is the right fit for your circumstances.
Step 4: Get independent legal and financial advice
Required under the Franchising Code of Conduct. Your accountant and a franchise-experienced solicitor should both review the opportunity. We provide referrals if needed.
Step 5: Spend an hour or two with an existing Franchisee on the tools
See the actual day-to-day work first-hand. Make sure the physical work, the routine and the lifestyle suit you before you commit.
Step 6: Complete the Franchise Application Form (DOC005)
This is the "go" document. Submitting it formally starts our process at your end and ours.
Step 7: Confirm your Territory Area with the Franchisor
We map your exclusive 8,000-dwelling territory using ABS Census data, starting from your home suburb and expanding until we reach approximately 8,000 dwellings. This becomes a documented part of your Franchise Agreement.
Step 8: Contracts and Franchise Disclosure Document issued
You must hold and review these documents for a minimum of 14 days before signing, as required under the Franchising Code of Conduct.
Step 9: Start your state licensing training in parallel
State licensing is a prerequisite for our practical training. Begin as early as possible — WA, NSW and NT each have their own pathway, and we walk you through the specifics.
Step 10: Complete Jim's training, launch, and start local marketing
2.5 days of Generic Training in Melbourne, then four weeks of in-field practical training with your Field Support Officer, then you're operational. From Day 1 of operations, join BNI or an equivalent networking group and begin building referral relationships across your territory.

Do I need prior experience in pest control?
No, we provide all necessary training and support.
What areas are available?
Franchise opportunities are available across all Australian states and territories. Call 131 546 or complete the online form and your local regional franchisor will be in touch.
How long is the training program?
The Jim's Group generic training is 2 days. After this you get your contract. Once you have signed your contract, your licensing, technical training (theory and practical) starts. Just to be clear, you are solely responsible getting your licence training done externally. The duration of this depends on your pace and commitment and the state you are in. We can't start your Franchise without a license. Some Franchisees manage to get started within three months, some takes a bit longer.
DOES JIM'S TAKE COMMISSION ON MY EARNINGS?
No, we have a fixed fee you pay per month and this fee does not increase if you get a higher turnover in your business. We also give you 15% discount on the fixed fee if you are fully compliant with the Franchise requirements and compliance.
How Big will my Franchise Territory be?
We aim for 8000 dwellings. We use Census 2021 data and we merge suburbs untill we reach 8000 dwellings and that would be the map of your Territory.
CAN I WORK OUTSIDE OF MY TERRITORY?
Absolutely!! You could get leads outside your territory if yu switch on for leads and you could get referrals from your own network and marketing outside of your territory. You just can't advertise outside of your Territory.
