Step 2: Territory Analysis & Selection

Using Census data, we strategically build your exclusive territory, starting with your home suburb and expanding until we reach approximately 8,000 dwellings. This defined zone becomes the primary asset of your franchise and the focus of your Local Area Marketing (LAM) efforts.

The advantage of the Jim’s model is the flexibility: while you own and dominate your dedicated 8,000-dwelling territory, you are never restricted—you can accept leads and referrals anywhere outside your territory. Once your mapping is confirmed and your contracts are ordered, you are officially a selected candidate. At this stage, we secure your place in our Generic Training program to begin your business transition.

Step 3: The Jim’s "Business Excellence" Boot Camp

You will attend our National Training Centre for a comprehensive immersion into the Jim’s Group ecosystem. This high-intensity program covers the core pillars of our success: from the operational mechanics of the "Jim's Work Guarantee" to advanced customer service protocols and administrative efficiency. You will launch with the brand standards of Australia’s most recognized service network.

We are looking for partners who are strategically minded. To demonstrate your commitment to your future business, we provide a Professional Business Plan Template. Completing this is your first step in mapping out your path to profitability and proving you have the drive to succeed in the WA market.

Step 4: Contract Review & Formal Execution

Once your Franchise Application Form is submitted and your 8,000-dwelling territory is mapped and confirmed, we initiate the formal contract order. At Jim’s Pest Control, we prioritize transparency; you will receive a comprehensive contract pack for your review.

Per Australian Franchise Code requirements, you will have a mandatory 14-day review period. We encourage you to use this time to conduct your final due diligence with your professional advisors. Upon the conclusion of this period, the contracts are executed and full payment is due.

Once the contracts are signed and the fee is settled, our National Documents Team handles the formal registration of your Franchise business with ASIC. This ensures your business is legally established and compliant from day one, allowing you to focus entirely on your upcoming training and launch.

Step 5: Licensing & Advanced Technical Certification

Obtaining your professional credentials is a priority. This process begins immediately—even before you attend Generic Training—as you engage with an external RTO to complete your Urban Pest Management (UPM) certification.

To launch your franchise in Western Australia, you require a Provisional Technician’s License. We streamline this by providing the necessary mentorship required by the WA Department of Health. Once you have completed Units 5, 6, and 18 of your UPM course, we assist you in submitting Forms PS2 and PS4, accompanied by your ASIC Business Registration and a formal letter from your Franchisor acting as your mentor.

Maximizing Your Revenue Potential

While Units 5, 6, and 18 are the baseline requirements, we highly recommend enrolling in Units 8, 10, and 42 immediately. These advanced modules enable you to perform high-value timber pest inspections and termite management—the highest-earning sectors of the industry.

Field Launch

Our intensive Practical Field Training commences the moment your provisional license is issued. You will transition from theory to real-world application, mastering the Jim’s service standards and the use of specialized equipment like the Termatrac® T3i. You will be invited to complete our online practical Training Theory sessions in conjunction with the practical training in the field.

Final Certification

To ensure the highest standards of service across the network, our training concludes with a rigorous dual-assessment. Upon the successful completion of both your field-based practical training and the online theory modules, you will be issued a Certificate of Completion.

Step 6: The Final Step: Insurance & Compliance

With your certification and licensing in place, we provide direct assistance with your Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance applications. This is the final layer of protection for your business and your clients. Once your insurance is active and your training is certified, your Franchise is officially activated. This marks your transition from a candidate to a fully qualified, insured, and operational Jim’s Pest Control Business Owner.

Step 7: The First Week – LAM Deployment & Growth Strategy

• The 13-Week Success Program: To ensure your long-term sustainability, you are invited to participate in our intensive 13-week Online Marketing Program. This course is designed to transition you from a "launcher" to a "market leader," providing a week-by-week roadmap to mastering local branding and customer retention.

Step 8: Operational Launch, Mentorship & The Pay for Work Guarantee

Once your insurance is active and your certification is issued, you are officially in the Operational Launch phase. You aren't just starting a job; you are activating a business system backed by ongoing mentorship and a financial safety net.

The Pay for Work Guarantee (PfWG)

The PfWG is designed to give you peace of mind during your initial growth phase. Unlike a salary, it is a guarantee that if you are available and actively promoting your business, you will have a baseline income.

To maintain eligibility for the Pay for Work Guarantee, you must adhere to the following professional standards:

• Compliance: You must remain fully compliant with the Franchise Agreement and all Operational Manuals.
• Availability: During a claim week, you must be available to work full-time for at least 6 days.
• Lead Management: You must service at least 80% of client leads provided to you over the past 6 months to the standard set in the manuals. Additionally, during a claim week, you must not decline any leads within your specified distance on at least 4 of your available work days.
• Proactive Promotion: To support your own growth, you must provide the Franchisor with a list of new clients to whom you have provided free promotional services within 14 days of the claim week.
• Reporting: You must inform your Franchisor of your actual earnings for the claim week within 3 working days of the week ending.
• Formal Claims: Any claim for the PfWG must be submitted to your Franchisor in writing with all required substantiating information.

Ongoing Mentorship & Growth

Your launch is just the beginning. Under the leadership of Manie Van Vuuren, you receive ongoing coaching to refine your technical skills and marketing efforts. While the PfWG provides a safety net, our goal is to use the LAM Blueprint to drive your earnings far beyond the guarantee.
