Jimboomba began as the Gimboomba pastoral run in 1845 and stayed a small farming and timber town for more than a century. The census counted about 1,000 residents in 1996 and more than 9,500 by 2006, so much of the town's housing went up within a single decade. Brick homes from that period sit beside acreage blocks on the town's edges. Jimboomba also falls within the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area, and new housing continues to go in around the older streets.

That mix shapes the pest work we do here. A chemical termite barrier has a limited service life, and homes built in the early 2000s are now more than 20 years old. If yours still relies on its original barrier, ask us to check what system is in place and when someone last renewed it. Acreage properties add sheds, stables, water tanks, timber fencing and stored firewood, and each one gives termites, rodents and spiders somewhere to settle. Several creeks run west through the town to the Logan River, and the ground beside them holds moisture long after rain.
